Importing and Exporting

Many kinds data formats can be read into \Mathics. Variable $ExportFormats contains a list of file formats that are supported by Export, while $ImportFormats does the corresponding thing for Import.

• System`Convert`B64Dump`B64Decode — decode a base64 string
• System`Convert`B64Dump`B64Encode — encode an element as a base64 string
• System`ConvertersDump`$ExtensionMappings — get associations file extensions and their abstract file type
• System`ConvertersDump`$FormatMappings — get associations between mime types their abstract file type
• Export — export elements to a file
• $ExportFormats — list supported export formats
• ExportString — export elements to a string
• FileFormat — determine the file format of a file
• Import — import elements from a file
• $ImportFormats — list supported import formats
• ImportString — import elements from a string
• ImportExport`RegisterExport — register an exporter for a file format
• ImportExport`RegisterImport — register an importer for a file format
• URLFetch — fetch data from a URL
